You guys. I am so excited about this. I had this little idea, I got some encouragement from a friend, and created something that I think could maybe be wonderful.
Now that the wedding is over I find I have a lot of space in my brain. I also find that it’s all too easy to fill that space with self-doubt and laziness. That’s not what I’m about. That’s not why I left my safe, comfortable job. That’s not who I want to be. I have such a rare opportunity here; the opportunity to build the life that I used to daydream about while sitting behind a desk. How can I possibly waste such a precious gift?
This challenge was created because I know I have a lot of things I need to work on in order to make this happen. I tried to design it to fit into everyone’s day-to-day, I left things open ended because all of our schedules and goals are different. I already have a few changes I want to make for July (oh yeah, this is going to grow, baby!) but for June I think the main point I want to drive home is this: think about what you want. Think about who you want to be. Where are you now? Where would you life to be in a year? Five years? Ten? How can you begin to make those things come to life in the next 30 days?
Health and fitness are a constant struggle for most people. They are also so important for everyone. They can mean different things to different people – you can go for a short walk around the block or you can run a marathon. It doesn’t matter, as long as you are moving at the pace you need. You can try cutting out soda for a month or you can take on a raw diet. It doesn’t matter, as long as your body is getting good, wholesome nourishment. These two simple but difficult components feed the last more than we realize: your heart. Your dreams. Your spirit. Yes, I’m getting a little woo woo zen moonchild here. But happiness is so important. It’s the most important. If you are not happy with your life then every day is so. damn. hard. We have the power to change it. That’s what this challenge is all about, Charlie Brown.
Thanks to the rad response I got when I posted the photo challenge this morning I’m posting the other worksheets below for anyone who wants to join. It’s up to you to create your calendars (they're not even numbered in case you want to start mid-month!), to fill in your goals, and to follow through. But if you decide to dive in know that you have a full support system in every single participant – whether you know each other or not we are all ultimately working toward the same thing. Let’s take the first steps toward becoming the happiest, healthiest people we can be! #happyhealthyjune15

YAY! This will be so awesome! I've been having a lot of these same feelings. Self-doubt. Not being sure what I'm doing with my life, but at the same time not really sure what to do about it. Really excited to start this super fun challenge and document with awesome photos! I also really like how you've left it open-ended so we can all do this the way that makes sense for us.
